ภาษานาวัตล์

ภาษานาวัตล์ (nāhuatl) เป็นภาษาในกลุ่มภาษายูโต-อัสเตกัน มีผู้พูดประมาณ 1.7 ล้านคนในตอนกลางของประเทศเม็กซิโก โดยเริ่มมีการพูดตั้งแต่ประมาณคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 7[3]มีหลายคำในภาษาอังกฤษที่มีต้นกำเนิดมาจากภาษานาวัตล์ เช่น "avocado", "chayote", "chili", "chocolate", "atlatl", "coyote", "peyote", "axolotl" และ "tomato"
