โอเอซิสนี้เป็นถิ่นกำเนิดของตระกูลผู้ปกครองรัฐอาบูดาบีและรัฐดูไบ ใน ค.ศ. 1793 ทางราชวงศ์อัลนะฮ์ยานได้ย้ายถิ่นที่อยู่จากลีวาไปยังเมืองอาบูดาบี[7]
