นิเวศวิทยา ของ Castilleja

ชนิดพันธุ์ของ Castilleja ถูกกินโดยหนอนผีเสื้อ (อันดับเลพิดอปเทรา) บางชนิด ได้แก่ ผีเสื้อกลางคืนชนิด Schinia cupes (ได้รับการบันทึกไว้ว่ากินชนิดพันธุ์ C. exserta) และ Schinia pulchripennis (ซึ่งกินเฉพาะชนิด C. exserta) และผีเสื้อลายจุด checkerspot เช่น ชนิดในสกุล Euphydryas
